On behalf of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) and the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) we are writing to you, as Chair of the Cabinet committee to coordinate the federal government’s response on COVID-19, to offer you the support of the combined expertise of the Academies in the efforts undertaken by the federal government to deal with this important issue.
We recognise that you and your colleagues will be faced with many urgent challenging public health issues in the coming weeks and months and we would be happy, if requested, to provide evidencebased advice in an expedited manner.
Collectively, the CAE, CAHS and the RSC represent over 4,000 leading professionals in scientific and scholarly disciplines including those relevant to the issues at hand.
