Dr. Nuttall is one of the world's most influential scholars in the ecologically important and politically significant field of Northern Studies. His research in Greenland, Canada, Scandinavia, Scotland, Alaska and Finland has drawn together indigenous communities, national and international governmental and non-governmental organizations. Recognized for his findings on the socio-cultural impact of global climate change, self-government and economic globalization, he played a major role in the International Arctic Council's ground breaking 2005 Arctic Climate Impact Assessment and is internationally acclaimed for his many significant publications including his award-winning three volume "Encyclopedia of the Arctic" 2005.
