Long Citation (for publication and press release)
Victoria Kaspi is a world expert in observations of neutron stars. Her pioneering work made major impact in using pulsars for studying General Relativity in the strong-field regime as well as in understanding the underlying physical principals. She has made multiple major discoveries on magnetars including their capacity for great rotational stability, their ability to occasionally suddenly spin-up, their ability to undergo bright X-ray bursts and large outbursts, as well as their overall tremendous variability. Dr. Kaspi's work in radio pulsar searching has led to the discovery of relativistic binary pulsars, extremely young pulsars, and the fastest pulsar yet known.
