Dr. Pelletier is a world leader in protein synthesis and its dysregulation in cancer. He has held focused research programs integrating genetics, molecular biology, mouse cancer models and chemical biology, leading to mechanistic insight into this process as well as demonstrating that it is a druggable vulnerability of tumor cells. Several of his findings are textbook material and he is an advocate of basic research benefiting human health.

Sylvain Moineau is a Professor of Microbiology at the Université Laval and is a world-leading expert on bacterial viruses. He holds the Canada Research Chair in bacteriophages and is the curator of the world largest public collection of bacterial viruses. He made seminal contributions to understanding phage biology and phage-bacteria interactions, including his landmark studies on CRISPR-Cas systems. Julia Baum is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Victoria. Jin-me Yoon is a Korean-born Canadian contemporary artist-researcher. Her early photographic work unpacked dominant discourses and stereotypical assumptions about citizenship, nationhood, culture, gender, and race. Expanding her practice to include video and installation, Yoon's ongoing work utilizes a transnational lens to witness and consider local histories, environments, identities and bodies in the context of entangled and interdependent global relations. Her work has been presented in over 180 exhibitions and is held in 17 public collections in Canada and internationally, including the National Art Gallery, Royal Ontario Museum, Vancouver Art Gallery and Seoul Museum of Art.
