Susanna Braund is the world expert on the translation history of the major Latin poet Virgil. She earlier pioneered literary study of Roman satire and cultural study of the emotions in Roman literature. David N. Brindley has provided international leadership for understanding the regulation of lipid metabolism. He pioneered most of the work on mammalian phosphatidate phosphatases, which were identified as lipins in 2006. His studies elucidate how lipins control lipid synthesis and also act as transcriptional regulators in adipose tissue development and fatty acid oxidation. Lori Brotto, a Canada Research Chair in Women’s Sexual Health, is internationally recognized as a leader in sexual health research.
