About the S7

Since its launch in 2005, the S7 has become a key platform for collaboration among leading science Academies, and typically includes the RSC, alongside the Academies of the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Ahead of each G7 Summit, participating academies convene at the S7 Summit to discuss global challenges and develop joint statements that provide G7 leaders with best-available scientific evidence and recommendations.
