The RSC Task Force on COVID-19






In March 2020, the RSC President and the Board of Directors determined that the RSC ought to do what it can to ensure that Canada emerges as a better society coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic than it was going into it.





Established by the President of the Royal Society of Canada in April 2020, the RSC Task Force on COVID-19 was mandated to provide evidence-informed perspectives on major societal challenges in response to and recovery from COVID-19.
[Ottawa, April 11, 2024) – The RSC has released its latest report titled “Health Research System Recovery: Strengthening Canada’s Health Research System after the COVID-19 Pandemic." The report goes beyond preparing for the next pandemic or health emergency by outlining how to comprehensively reshape Canada’s health research system.

This webinar will discuss findings of the recently released report, "Urgent and Long Overdue: Legal Reform and Drug Decriminalization in Canada." Panelists will address Canada's drug crisis, focusing on elements of a national approach to decriminalization.
