On May 14, 2024 we wrapped up an exciting renovation project on RSC’s head office, a historic building built in 1893, located at 282 Somerset Street West in Ottawa.
The renovation of Walter House blends historical preservation with modern functionality. During demolition, original brick elements were carefully preserved and reused, prioritizing heritage conservation of critical building elements. A stunning solid wood staircase was uncovered behind one of the existing walls and was refinished in its original colours.
The space includes modern features such as bronze-tone light fixtures, rich wood tone millwork, and warm flooring to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Featuring a catering kitchen, open event spaces across three floors, boardrooms and a rooftop terrace, our redesigned and versatile event space is ready to accommodate a variety of events including lectures, receptions, and meetings.
