In 2023, the first year of the At-Risk and Displaced Academics and Artists program saw the election of exemplary candidates to the RSC College. The Royal Society of Canada is now pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2024 competition, with an application deadline of February 16, 2024.
Facilitated by the RSC College, ARDAA supports academics and artists from around the world who have been displaced through war, conflicts or threats of violence and who, prior to their displacement, were engaged in innovative and entrepreneurial research activity, demonstrating a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership and responsibility to their communities, and who were making meaningful contributions to society.
The ARDAA program supports eligible candidates in three ways:
- By offering membership in the RSC College to up to two eligible applicants each year. Applications are invited from eligible candidates to be part of the 2024 cohort of the RSC College. More details about the application process and eligibility criteria are available online.
- By offering mentorship from RSC Fellows and College Members. RSC Members interested in volunteering as mentors should contact ardaa@rsc-src.ca.
- By hosting workshops to assist eligible candidates in navigating academia in Canada. The first workshop will be held in March in Ottawa.
