  • The A.G. Huntsman Award recognizes excellence of research and outstanding contributions to marine sciences. Previously awarded in categories like Marine Geoscience, Oceanography, and Fisheries Science, the award now recognizes excellence in marine sciences without categorical distinctions. This change reflects the growing overlap among disciplines, acknowledging that some research spans multiple fields. The goal remains to identify and celebrate exceptional marine scientists. The A.G. Huntsman Award is named after Archibald Gowanlock Huntsman, a pioneering Canadian oceanographer, who served as president of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) in 1938. Nominations close on April 4.
