The Royal Society of Canada is delighted to announce that the College has been accepted as an Affiliate Member of the International Science Council (ISC).

“In becoming an Affiliate Member of the International Science Council, the College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists will have an opportunity to provide its membership with valuable opportunities for scientific engagement that will benefit the College, the Royal Society of Canada, and the Nations we represent,” said President of the College Frank Deer. “The three priority areas of the Royal Society of Canada - Inclusive Excellence, Independent Expertise, and International Engagement - will be well supported by our affiliate membership in the International Science Council. I am excited by the possibilities that this partnership will yield.”

The ISC works at the global level to catalyse and convene scientific expertise, advice, and influence on issues of major concern to both science and society. By joining, the College will have a crucial role in the ISC’s mission which seeks to be the global voice for science, by integrating scientific excellence and science-policy expertise from all fields of science and all regions of the world. The College's commitment to excellence in research and academia aligns with the values and mission of the ISC, and we are excited to collaborate in the pursuit of advancing scientific knowledge and understanding.

“The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) is delighted to see that its College of New Scholars will become an Affiliate member of the International Science Council (ISC). This will build on, and enhance, the positive membership relationship the RSC has with the ISC through the National Research Council and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Canada,” said RSC International Secretary Paul Young.

We look forward to the opportunities that membership will bring.
