“Their Stories Live Inside Me Now” | Science, Storytelling and Youth Suicide Prevention

Marie-Claude Geoffroy (RSC College) does not see youth suicide as a single moment or sudden rupture. She sees it as a story — long, complex, and too often only visible in hindsight.

A professor of psychiatry at McGill University, the Douglas Research Centre, and Canada Research Chair in Youth Suicide Prevention, she works at the intersection of science, lived experience, and storytelling. Her goal is not only to understand suicide, but to change its trajectory.
