G7 Academies Release 2025 Statements on Advancing Science for Society

For the 21st consecutive year, national science academies, including the RSC, have signed statements that contribute the best available knowledge and insights to G7 leaders for the G7 Summit. This year’s summit will take place in Kananaskis, Alberta, from June 15 to 17, 2025.

Each year, a different member state assumes the presidency of the G7 and hosts the summit on a rotating basis. In 2025, as the G7 marks the 50th anniversary of its first summit, Canada assumed the presidency for the seventh time. 

Release of 2023 G-Science Statements

For the 19th consecutive year, since the establishment of the process in 2005, the G7 science academies have finalized three statements to contribute the best available knowledge and insights to G7 leaders at the summit in May. 

Ahead of this summit, the national academies discuss and present joint statements with recommendations on global challenges, bringing scientific knowledge and expertise into the political discussion for the betterment of the world.
