Climate change is one of the most pressing and complex global challenges facing our world and communities today—one that requires academics, researchers, and community members across the street and across the world to collaborate, share knowledge and build on each other’s strengths. Universities can play a leading role in the transformational change required.

At this symposium, diverse scholars, industry partners and community leaders will share, discuss and explore:

  • How mobilizing research can mitigate GHG emissions and catalyze clean energy transitions
  • Nature-based solutions for adaptation to climate change and low carbon resiliency strategies for communities
  • Climate innovation and energy system transformation in support of meeting Canada’s 2050 net zero targets
