The Royal Society of Canada is aware of the article by a Fellow of the RSC that was recently retracted by an international chemistry journal. Diversity is vitally important to research in Canada as well as Canadian society as a whole. The Royal Society of Canada’s commitment to inclusive excellence—recognizing that there is no excellence without meaningful inclusion—is unwavering. We flatly condemn discrimination, including statements that question the importance of any sector of the international research community in the advancement of knowledge. We all benefit when we can all contribute.
The RSC has a policy for complaints under By-Law 10 that ensures that concerns are handled expeditiously once the necessary information is available, including evidence from an official investigation by another body.
