Peter Davies is a world leader in the study of the molecular biology and biochemistry of antifreeze proteins. His work has been instrumental in illuminating the understanding of the molecular details of how these proteins bind to ice surfaces. His more recent data has shown that insect AFPs are a more powerful antifreeze than any of the fish antifreezes, with a new kind of antifreeze structure.
