On February 9, three representatives of the RSC Task Force on COVID-19 testified before the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology on the potential for establishing a National Day of Observance for the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Chair of the RSC Task Force, Dr. Tracy Vaillancourt, read the opening statement and then was joined by Dr. Julia M. Wright (Member of the Task Force and President of the Academy of Arts and Humanities) and Dr. Sharon Straus (Member of the Task Force) in responding to questions from Senators. 

The Task Force representatives stressed the vital role of research and expertise. The opening statement, proceedings, and a background document are available here.
