About the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

In September 2015, representatives from 193 countries at the United Nations Headquarters approved a global agenda to be achieved by 2030, recognizing the urgent need for action on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the most important identified was eradicating poverty in all its forms. Governments committed to bold and transformative measures to ensure a sustainable and resilient future, balancing social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Science and international collaboration are pivotal in achieving these goals.
