Bonny Ibhawoh is an internationally renowned historian of human rights and African studies, and the founding Director of McMaster University's Centre for Human Rights and Restorative Justice. A prolific scholar and public commentator, Ibhawoh’s ground-breaking publications have shaped human rights scholarship. His significant academic and policy contributions to global human rights are evident in his appointment by the United Nations Human Rights Council as Chair of the UN Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development.
Bonny Ibhawoh est un historien de renommée internationale dans les domaines des droits de l’homme et des études Africaines. Il a créé et dirige le « Centre for Human Rights and Restorative Justice » à l’université McMaster. Chercheur prolifique et chroniqueur public, Ibhawoh a, par sa recherche novatrice, révolutionné les études sur les droits de l’homme. Sa nomination, par le Conseil des droits de l’homme des Nations Unies, à la tête du groupe d’experts sur le Droit au Développement constitue une reconnaissance éloquente de son apport tant aux études qu’à la politique sur les droits de l’homme en général.
