David Naylor is a world leader in health services research. Founder of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, Naylor spearheaded the development of novel 'atlases' illustrating profound regional and institutional variations in health status and services. His pioneering work has also had an international influence on the assessment and management of queues for specialized health services. Naylor's other lines of research have shed new light on issues such as the marginal returns of investments in tertiary services, the impact of socio-economic factors on access and outcomes in our health system, and the uptake of research evidence into clinical practice.
