Michael B. Cosmopoulos is an internationally known archaeologist and classicist whose pioneering and multi-disciplinary approaches have impacted deeply our knowledge of the Classical world. Through his sophisticated theoretical models and important archaeological excavations he has developed new ways of understanding Greek religion (especially the formation of Greek sanctuaries and the origins of ancient mystery cults) and political history (especially the emergence of states and social complexity).
Michael B. Cosmopoulos est un archéologue et classiciste internationalement connu, don’t les approches pionnières et multidisciplinaires ont eu un profond impact sur notre connaissance du monde Classique. Par ses modèles théoriques sophistiqués et ses fouilles archéologiques importantes il a développé de nouvelles façons de comprendre la religion grecque (particulièrement la formation de sanctuaires grecs et les origines de cultes à mystères antiques) et l'histoire politique (particulièrement l'apparition de l État et de la complexité sociale).
