Joerg Bohlmann is a world leader in the fields of plant and forestry genomics and in plant natural products biology. He is distinguished for his research on the genomics of defense and resistance mechanisms of conifers against insect pests and insect-associated fungal pathogens, as well as on plant terpenoid biochemistry. New systems for high value bioproducts, as well as groundbreaking approaches for conifer improvement, are emerging from this work.

Joerg Bohlmann est un leader mondial dans les domaines de la génomique végétale et forestière et la biologie des produits naturels des végétaux. Il se distingue pour sa recherche sur la génomique des mécanismes de défense et de résistance des conifères contre les insectes nuisibles et les pathogènes fongiques associés à ces insectes, ainsi que sur la biochimie des terpénoïdes végétaux. De son travail sont issus de nouveaux systèmes de bioproduits de grande valeur ajoutée ainsi que des approches novatrices pour l'amélioration des conifères.
