Janice Ristock’s innovative research on violence in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Two-Spirit, and queer (LGBTQ) relationships has made ground-breaking contributions to the ways we conceptualize and respond to intimate partner violence. She is an internationally recognized trailblazer in the development of LGBTQ studies in Canada. Uniquely, she specializes in developing community-based research approaches for working with marginalized populations and studying their issues in ways that acknowledge their profound complexities.
Les recherches novatrices de Janice Ristock sur la violence dans les relations lesbiennes, gaies, bisexuelles, transgenres, bispirituelles et homosexuelles (LGBTBH) ont contribué de façon révolutionnaire à la façon dont nous conceptualisons la violence conjugale et y réagissons. Elle est une pionnière internationalement reconnue dans l’élaboration d’études LGBTBH au Canada. Exclusivement, elle se spécialise dans l’élaboration d’approches de recherche communautaires pour travailler avec les populations marginalisées et étudier leurs problèmes de façons qui reconnaissent leurs complexités profondes.
