Dr. Susan Lederman is a world leader in the fields of tactile and haptic perception. She has made fundamental contributions to our understanding of human touch. Working with the Bank of Canada and the CNIB, Susan Lederman has made it possible for visually impaired people to identify the denomination of new banknotes by hand using a code of raised texture patches.
