STEVENS, Paul - Department of English, University of Toronto
Paul Stevens is an internationally renowned scholar of early modern English literature and culture and a world-class authority on the works of John Milton. His numerous publications have made ground-breaking contributions to Milton’s politics and poetics, Shakespeare, early modern nationalism and colonialism, and the new historicism. He is Professor and CRC in English Literature at the University of Toronto and founder of the Canada Milton Seminar.

Le professeur Stevens est un chercheur de réputation internationale dans le domaine de la littérature anglaise du début de la période moderne et un expert de calibre mondial sur l’œuvre de John Milton. Ses nombreuses publications ont jeté un nouvel éclairage sur les positions politiques et sur la poésie de Milton, sur Shakespeare, sur le nationalisme et le colonialisme de l’époque, et sur le néo-historicisme. Il est professeur titulaire de la chaire de recherche canadienne en littérature anglaise à l’université de Toronto. Il est également fondateur du Canada Milton Seminar.
