Historienne économique, sociale et culturelle, Béatrice Craig est une spécialiste reconnue de l’émergence des sociétés capitalistes occidentales. Étudiant à la fois les sociétés rurales canadiennes et l’expérience des femmes en France au 19e siècle, elle a contribué de manière significative à la recherche sur le monde Atlantique. Ses nombreuses publications, reçues avec beaucoup d’intérêt au Canada et à l’étranger, lui ont valu plusieurs prix prestigieux.
Praised as a historian of economic, social and cultural change, Béatrice Craig is a well-known specialist on the emergence of western capitalist societies. Studying both Canadian rural societies and the changing experience of women in France in the 19th century, she has significantly contributed to research on the Atlantic World. Her numerous publications, well received in Canada and abroad, have won her several prestigious awards.
