Sally Aitken is a Professor in the Department of Forest and Conservation Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and an internationally recognized authority on the genetic adaptation of forest trees to climate. Her research links genomics, ecology and climatology to understand adaptation and the capacity of trees to adapt to new conditions. She is helping re-shape forest management, conservation, and reforestation decisions for new climates.
Sally Aitken est une professeur du Département des Sciences des Forêts et de la Conservation à l'Université de la Colombie Britannique. Elle est reconnue comme une autorité au niveau international en génétique de l'adaptation des forêts aux variations climatiques. Son travail de recherche relie la génomique, l'écologie et la climatologie pour comprendre l'adaptation, et la capacité des arbres à s'adapter à de nouvelles conditions. Elle participe au remaniement de la gestion des forêts, de la conservation, et des décisions de reforestation face à l'apparition de nouveaux climats.
