Michèle Lamont is a professor at Harvard University and fellow at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. A leading cultural sociologist, her research concerns the construction of worth across classes and ethnoracial groups, in peer review, and in stigmatization and discrimination, and their impact on inequality. The recipient of a number of international honors, she was elected president-elect of the American Sociological Association in 2015.

Michèle Lamont est professeure à l'Université Harvard et membre de l'Institut canadien pour la recherche avancée. Elle est une sociologue internationalement reconnue en sociologie pour ses recherches sur le symbolique, la stigmatisation des identités et les relations entre groupes culturels et leur contribution a l’inégalité. Elle a reçu de nombreuses distinctions et plusieurs prix prestigieux qui attestent de son rayonnement international. Elle a été élue a la présidence de l'Association américaine des sociologues en 2015.
