Michel Magnan is a scholar whose work on the measurement, valuation and disclosure of environmental
and social information is known around the world, thus broadening accounting research’s horizons while
contributing to other fields. His studies on corporate governance, especially on the compensation of
Canadian executives, have laid the foundation for further work in this area. Finally, his expertise in financial
statement analysis has earned him national and even international visibility.

Michel Magnan est un chercheur dont les travaux en mesure, évaluation et communication d’information
environnementale et sociale ont élargi les horizons de la recherche comptable et de celle d’autres
disciplines à l’échelle internationale. Ses études en gouvernance d’entreprise, notamment sur la
rémunération des dirigeants de sociétés canadiennes, ont été précurseurs d’un courant de recherche. Enfin, son
expertise en analyse d’états financiers lui a valu une reconnaissance nationale et internationale.
