Le, Chris - Chemistry - University of Alberta
Chris Le is an analytical chemist studying the effects of environmental contaminants on human health. His work on the identification and detection of arsenic species has provided the basis for much of our understanding of how arsenic affects human health. His techniques and assays for measuring trace elements, proteins, and DNA damage have enabled the assessment of environmentally and clinically relevant exposures. His design and use of specific nucleic acid sequences to bind to target molecules such as proteins has led to new approaches to detection of these targets and examination of molecular interactions.
