| 1:00 | Royal Society of Canada Listening Tour: Water|Energy|Food Nexus
The RSC is embarking upon its third annual "Listening Tour" after visits to Goose Bay and Whitehorse the past two years. RSC Fellows and Members of the RSC College from across the country are visiting the University of Saskatchewan beginning at 1:00pm, with a series of presentations and discussions around issues of water, energy, and food.
| 4:30 | RSC Prairies-North Launch Event
The Saskatchewan meeting also marks an exciting development in RSC, with the establishment of the RSC Prairies-North regional network! Initially based at the University of Regina but serving the three prairie provinces and Canada’s northern territories, the RSC PN seeks to enable our talented academics to address issues of concern to the citizens of Canada, particularly those living in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and all points north. Regular events will include roundtables, speaker engagements, performances, readings and sponsored public presentations, among other exciting activities. To mark the establishment of the RSC-PN, our Launch Event will be introduced by University of Regina President Dr. Vianne Timmons then will move to a series of brief (5-minute) exposés on some of the great work being done by RSC members. The Launch will conclude with a social mixer.
Many thanks to RSC-PN co-chairs Peter Leavitt and Raymond Blake of the University of Regina for their efforts in establishing this regional network.
| 6:00 | University of Saskatchewan Reception sponsored by the President
The leadership of the University of Saskatchewan would like to welcome you to a brief reception following the launch event to celebrate the new RSC-PN presence in the prairies.
