The RSC is pleased to announce the new President of the College as well as those who have been elected to leadership positions beginning in November 2025.
At the Annual Meeting of its Members on November 9 in Vancouver, the RSC welcomed Dr. Audrey Moores for a two-year mandate as President of the College. In this capacity Dr. Moores will also serve on the RSC Board of Directors and the RSC Council.
Dr. Moores is Professor of Chemistry and Associate Director of the Facility for Electron Microscopy Research at McGill University. She is committed to supporting early-career scholars from diverse backgrounds and fostering excellence, innovation and collaboration across disciplines.
In addition, the RSC membership has elected members as RSC President-Elect and Academy Presidents-Elect. These scholars will begin their mandates, as well as their roles on the RSC Board of Directors and RSC Council, following the Annual Meeting of the Members in November 2025:
Dr. Françoise Baylis | President-Elect of the RSC (November 2025-November 2028)
A renowned philosopher and bioethicist, Dr. Baylis is recognized for her pioneering research in healthcare ethics, policy, and practice. She currently serves as Distinguished Research Professor Emerita at Dalhousie University and on the Governing Board of the International Science Council. Learn more here.
Dr. James Grier | President-Elect of the Academy of Arts and Humanities (November 2025-November 2028)
A Professor of Music History at Western University, Dr. Grier is an internationally recognized expert in medieval music. Learn more here.
Dr. Guy Laforest | President-Elect of the Academy of Social Sciences (November 2025-November 2028)
A Professor Emeritus at Université Laval, Dr. Laforest is recognized as a leading expert on constitutional and referendum issues in Canada. Learn more here.
Dr. Robert Boily | President-Elect of the Academy of Science (November 2025-November 2028)
A multidisciplinary researcher and senior scientific advisor, Dr. Boily brings over three decades of experience advising the Government of Canada, Government of Quebec, academia, and industry. Learn more here.
