The S20 Forum, a coalition of national academies from G20 nations, held its annual summit in Pretoria, South Africa, from February 24-27, 2025. The S20, which rotates its presidency among member nations each year, was hosted by South Africa this year. The S20 prepares statements on critical global issues for presentation to G20 political leaders.
Under the theme "Climate Change and Well-being," the S20 discussions centered on five key themes in alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development:
- Human and Environmental Health
- Food, Water, and Energy Nexus
- Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, and People in Vulnerable Situations
- Climate Change Adaptation
- Climate Change Mitigation
