Srividya Iyer is an international leader in youth mental health and early intervention, especially for serious mental illnesses. Her research seeks to ensure that more young people in Canada and beyond have timely access to appropriate mental healthcare and enjoy well-being and social participation. Along with exceptional research and clinical accomplishments, Srividya’s outstanding contributions include the engagement of diverse stakeholders, particularly youth and family service users, in services delivery and research.

Srividya Iyer est une chercheuse et une psychologue de renommée internationale dans les domaines de la santé mentale des jeunes et de l’intervention précoce, particulièrement dans le cas des maladies mentales graves. Ses travaux portent sur la rapidité de l’accès aux soins de santé mentale pour les jeunes au Canada et ailleurs dans le monde. Elle s’intéresse également au bien-être mental de ces jeunes. Ses travaux font appel à la participation des jeunes et de leurs familles dans la prestation de services et dans ses recherches.

Etienne Laliberté’s research program focuses on the study of plant-soil ecological interactions in order to better understand how vegetation will respond to global environmental changes. His research helps to predict the consequences of environmental changes on plant biodiversity and the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems. His research also allows us to improve the management of natural ecosystems and to optimize the strategies for the ecological restoration of degraded ecosystems.

Le programme de recherche d’Étienne Laliberté porte sur les interactions écologiques entre les plantes et les sols afin de mieux comprendre comment la végétation réagira aux changements environnementaux globaux. Sa recherche permet ainsi de prédire les conséquences de ces changements sur la biodiversité végétale et le fonctionnement des écosystèmes terrestres. Elle permet aussi d’améliorer la gestion des écosystèmes naturels et d’optimiser les stratégies de restauration écologique d’écosystèmes dégradés.

Louis Patrick Leroux is a playwright, director and scholar. A Professor in both the English and French departments at Concordia University, he is also the Founding Director of the Montreal Working Group on Circus Research and Associate Researcher at the National Circus School. In addition to his innovative research-creation work and award-wining publications on Québec drama, he has mobilized and spearheaded North American research into contemporary circus studies.

Dramaturge, metteur en scène et chercheur, Louis Patrick Leroux est professeur titulaire d’anglais et d’études françaises à l’Université Concordia. Fondateur du Groupe montréalais de recherches en arts du cirque, il est également chercheur associé à l’École nationale de cirque. Sylvain Sénécal is a Marketing Professor, the RBC Financial Group Chair and the Tech3Lab Co-Director at HEC Montréal. A pioneer in Internet marketing research, his work investigates consumers’ experiences when they use the Internet to make purchase decisions. He is the co-founder of the most important user experience research lab in North America, the Tech3Lab.

A Professor at the University of Saskatchewan and the Director of the award-winning Sustainability and Education Policy Network (SEPN), Dr. McKenzie works to improve sustainability policies and practices in education systems. The author of numerous articles, chapters, and books, Dr. McKenzie has written influential studies at the intersections of environment and education in relation to public policy and research.

POMEROY, John - Department of Geography and Planning, University of Saskatchewan John Pomeroy is the world’s most cited snow hydrologist. A Canada Research Chair in Water Resources and Climate Change, Dr. Pomeroy’s career contributions have changed the field of hydrology; his landmark studies on snow transport and distribution, snow cover energy balance, snow cover evolution, melt, and runoff have defined current understandings of the science of snow. An AGU Fellow, he won the Canadian Geophysical Union’s highest honour, the J. Tuzo Wilson Medal, in 2017. He currently directs the worlds largest university-led freshwater research programme - Global Water Futures: Solutions to Water Threats in an Era of Global Change for the Canada First Research Excellence Fund.

POMEROY, John - Département de géographie et de planification, Université de Saskatchewan John Pomeroy est l'hydrologue spécialisé dans l’étude de la neige le plus cité au monde. MANSFIELD, Shawn - Department of Wood Science, The University of British Columbia Shawn Mansfield is a world-leading authority on plant secondary cell wall biosynthesis. He is internationally recognized for his efforts linking genomics, biochemistry, and development, and using functional genomics has discovered genes critical to plant growth. His work has significant implications for the improvement of bioenergy crops and forest trees, with the potential to substantially ameliorate the anthropogenic footprint of industrial processing and mitigate atmospheric CO2 release.

BUBELA, Tania – Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University Tania Bubela is an internationally recognized scholar of the ethical, legal, economic, and social implications of novel health biotechnologies. Her interdisciplinary, empirically-grounded research has advanced understanding of global innovation ecosystems; collective action and governance challenges in data and biomaterials sharing; and regulatory and policy reforms for research and development of cost-effective diagnostics and biotherapies that have positive health impacts. Her international knowledge translation activities engage patients, clinicians and health decision-makers.
