His groundbreaking scholarship in the history of medicine has been fundamental to scientific as well as popular understandings of the origins of modern neuroscience and the relationship with public mental health. His transnational, interdisciplinary approaches to investigations of neuroscience have significantly expanded global medical history in this complex domain.
Frank Stahnisch est titulaire de la chaire Hannah et de l’Alberta Medical Foundation en histoire de la médecine et des soins de santé à la University of Calgary. Ses travaux novateurs en histoire de la médecine ont joué un rôle fondamental dans la compréhension scientifique et populaire des origines des neurosciences modernes et de leur relation avec la santé mentale publique. Son approche transnationale et interdisciplinaire des neurosciences a considérablement enrichi ce domaine complexe de l’histoire médicale mondiale.
