Alison McGuigan is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry and the Institute for Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto and the Erwin Edward Hart Professor of Chemical Engineering. Dr. McGuigan has developed creative strategies to assemble and organize complex engineering tissues for understanding fundamental tissue biology and identifying novel disease mechanisms. With pharmaceutical partners, she is using these platforms to develop novel disease therapies.
Alison McGuigan est professeure associée en génie chimique et chimie appliquée à l’Institute for Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering de l’Université de Toronto et professeure Erwin Edward Hart en génie chimique. Le Dr. McGuigan a élaboré des stratégies créatives pour assembler et organiser des tissus d’ingénierie complexes afin de comprendre la biologie fondamentale des tissus et d’identifier de nouveaux mécanismes pathologiques. Avec des partenaires pharmaceutiques, elle utilise ces plateformes pour développer de nouvelles thérapies contre les maladies.
