Abraham has made important contributions to astrophysics though his work on galaxy morphology and classification. His pioneering work on faint galaxies in the distant Universe revealed the existence of massive evolved galaxies in the distant Universe, which was a major surprise. A particular hallmark of his research is the manner in which he opens up new vistas in parameter space by developing highly innovative astronomical techniques and instruments.
Le professeur Robert Abraham a fait des contributions importantes en astrophysique, notamment à travers ses travaux sur la morphologie de la galaxie et la classification. Son travail de pionnier sur les galaxies faibles dans l'univers lointain a révélé l'existence de massives galaxies évoluées dans l'univers lointain, ce qui a été une surprise majeure. La caractéristique principale de ses recherches est la manière dont il ouvre de nouvelles perspectives dans l'espace des paramètres en développant des techniques et des instruments astronomiques novateurs.
