Long Citation (for publication and press release)
Safa Kasap is a pioneer in electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices research, from fundamental principles to advances in direct conversion x-ray image detectors for medical imaging. He is the author of two acclaimed textbooks (both have been translated) and the editor of a major handbook in his field. His distinctive research and scholarly contributions have been published in more than 200 refereed journal papers, and as chapters in a major encyclopedia and several books. They include experimental and theoretical investigations into the fabrication, characterization (electrical, optical, thermal, mechanical, structural) and modeling of amorphous semiconductors and chalcogenide glasses for optoelectronics and x-ray imaging.
