Chantal Cyr is Canada Research Chair in Child Attachment and Development. She is internationally known for her work on child maltreatment, attachment disorganization and the parent-child Attachment Video-feedback Intervention (AVI). She has shown the effectiveness of the AVI for improving parental sensitivity, child development and placement decisions in child protection cases. Her trainings influence many practitioners working with vulnerable families. Her work has led to the implementation of the AVI in several countries around the world.

Jacques Côté, Canada Research Chair and Director of Oncology Research at CHU de Québec-Université Laval, is an international leader on chromatin structure and function, histone modifications and molecular epigenetics. He made hallmark discoveries on the molecular mechanisms regulating gene expression and genome integrity. His innovative work dissected how the cell remodels nucleosomes, the basic structure of chromosomes, to control access to DNA and performs epigenetic signaling.

Sam Dales is an outstanding scientist in whose laboratory many excellent researchers have trained. His early research on Poxviruses established his reputation and culminated in a 1981 monograph "Biology of Poxviruses". His recent focus has been on virus-related demyelinating disease, an important area in which his impact can be seen in the number (6) of invited reviews he has contributed in 1987-88. A major discovery was the demonstration that infection leading to demyelination is host age dependent and related to the differentiation process of the target oligodendrocyte cell.
