Candice Monson is internationally recognized for her efforts to: 1) develop, test, and disseminate treatments for traumatic stress disorders and 2) increase recognition of interpersonal factors in trauma recovery. She developed a psychotherapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) recommended in multiple treatment guidelines worldwide. She also pioneered an innovative theory and treatment for those with PTSD and their social supports to better understand and promote recovery after traumatization.
