Cynthia Hawkins is a world-renowned physician-scientist and paediatric brain tumour expert whose groundbreaking translational research is modernizing the international landscape of paediatric precision medicine. It is through her work in uncovering the molecular pathogenesis of glioma and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma that has enabled her to spearhead the development and clinical implementation of novel diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic markers, leading to the establishment of a paediatric diagnostic reference lab.
Cynthia Hawkins est une médecin chercheuse de renommée mondiale et une spécialiste des tumeurs cérébrales pédiatriques, dont les recherches translationnelles révolutionnaires ont modernisé le paysage mondial de la médecine de précision pédiatrique. C’est grâce à ses travaux sur la pathogenèse moléculaire du gliome et du gliome pontique intrinsèque diffus qu’elle a pu diriger la mise au point et la mise en œuvre clinique de nouveaux marqueurs diagnostiques, pronostiques et thérapeutiques, efforts qui ont conduit à la création d’un laboratoire de référence en diagnostic pédiatrique.
