Jennifer Baltzer is internationally recognized for her work on the impact of environmental change on the composition, structure and function of forests from the tropics to the subarctic. She has made key contributions to our understanding of the response of forest ecosystems to resource limitations, notably shade and drought tolerance in trees. She works closely with communities, governments and non-governmental agencies, successfully interfacing between science and society.
Jennifer Baltzer est reconnue à l’échelle internationale pour ses travaux sur l’impact du changement environnemental sur la composition, la structure et la fonction des forêts, des régions tropicales aux régions subarctiques. Elle a apporté des contributions fondamentales à notre compréhension de la réaction des écosystèmes forestiers aux manques de ressources, notamment la tolérance des arbres à l’ombre et à la sécheresse. Elle travaille en étroite collaboration avec des collectivités, des gouvernements et des organisations non gouvernementales, agissant à titre d’intermédiaire utile entre les milieux scientifiques et la société en général.
