The Royal Society of Canada Atlantic Chapter, in partnership with Dalhousie University, is pleased to invite you to a free public lecture by 2012 Fellow John Cullen.
Responding to the unforeseen challenges of a knowledge-based society in an ever-changing environment, scientists must constantly expand the frontiers of what we know by conducting exploratory, fundamental research-the science of how things work. Reflecting on 40 years studying ocean ecosystems, Professor John Cullen, FRSC, will discuss how seemingly industry-irrelevant studies of nature have directly supported industrial innovation, economic development and environmental protection in Canada.
The Herald Magazine's April Edition, "Oceans", will be launched following the lecture.
