Annual Symposium: (IM)migration, memories and transnational identities

Thursday, November 20, 2014 - 08:00 to 16:00
Musée de la civilisation: 85 rue Dalhousie Québec, QC, G1K 8R2

This symposium will aim to enter the heated debate of the issues raised by transnational migration which shakes all contemporary societies and transforms our understanding of national identity today.

Our approach is resolutely interdisciplinary and multi-centered, given that the symposium will be held in Quebec, we will tend to favor the point of view of the Quebecois. We will engage specialists in various disciplines of the humanities and social sciences, as well as possible, specialists in cognitive and neurobiological sciences to address aspects of recent knowledge on the functioning of human memory.

We believe this symposium will renew our understanding of Canadian and Quebec nationalism, and their peculiarities.
